I saw a thread on the forum (well i think i did!) that dealt with the hacking of a chasing christmas lights string... and they hacked it and put outlets on it and used it for halloween. Does anyone remember the post? Or is the tutorial on a website?
Scary Christmas everyone!!

Go to santasprojects.com. They have what you want. Made a couple of them myself.

Your welcome. Be advised that they won't support a whole lot of amps. Maybe about 3 amps before meltdown. I've used 1-100ct. light string per plug and haven't had no problems. Doesn't mean it couldn't. Best time to buy the multi-function light sets is after x-mas sales. The 150 ct sets will give you a 3 plug-3 channels- and a 140 ct set will give you 4 plugs-4 channels. As with all electrical modifications, BE CAREFULL that you don't get zapped!

It might have been the tutorial MadMax posted about hacking the Christmas light controllers:

I made a prop doing this its a great idea. I used the same prop for Halloween and Christmas. For the lights I went with Phillips 100 minis they only use .16 amps as
compared to .33 amps.Watch where you dig... you may find yourself...
