Thread: Hannibal lector prop layout!

Hey everyone! so i asked my mom today for a prop idea. I said think o a prop that would scare you has to be pnuematic. She suggested a hannibal lector strapped up and standing on the side of a walkway in our haunt...
when someone came by his upper body would pop out not looking like his body was seperate but as if it popped out looking below at you. i am going to use a 4'' stroke cylinder, a 110v fright props 2 way cylinder and an air compressor to use forthe mechanism for this prop...

I decided this would be my time taking money worthy prop... i am going to get a prop controller and pica boo sound for this prop. Hanninbal will be bolted to a 2 by 4 wooden frame with his shoes bolted to the bottom bade like a lynching pole almost. the cylinder will be in the back of his neck and facing on an angle down towards the people....

everything will be dark in the haunt im thinking to give that creepy but surpriosing look... i dont know if i should have an actor trigger it or if a motion sensor, step pad, relay.....HELP!!!

so when someone passes by he will jump out, a light will light up over the prop and a noise will be made which i havwe not yet decided!

Let me know what you guys think, comments questions concerns... i going to finsih a few other touch ups on props i have going right now bu this is a big project about 2 to 3 months because of other small projects i have going on not to mention my halloween store!

Just go the other way with the look, imo. The popular consumer version is of course the one wearing the face mask, saying different phrases. I think the mask pops on and off too, and the head looks back and forth. Neither here nor there- use the look of when he's done beating the hell out of the jailor with his own club, in the cage. That's a pretty terrifying face he has in that scene, but is still identifyable as Hannible. You want totally off the wall elaborate? Have a two prop compact animated scene. Have a Ray Liota prop sitting with the top of his skull cut off and Hannible standing behind him, the animation being him eating the dudes brains right from his skull. This would be similar to the scene in the movie. For the record, I didn't care for that movie- but that scene was interesting. And this type of prop would be gory, as opposed to a real startle.

i wanrted to get the mask to release or something else as he pops out it will be looked like the prop is tied back and he cant do anything but te scare is he pops outward as if he isnt but i should make a scene with gory parts and blood dripping from his caged mouth?
