Well Thanks to help from some of the members of this forum about what motor to use for a FCG I purchased one that bfjou812 had for sale. It arrived on Thursday. I had a couple hours of free time today so I commenced building:
It was a fun project to do. not too complicated.
I still have the ghost to build. but that'll be for another day. I still have to get the cheescloth & the LED's for the eyes.
I guess that means I gotta learn how to make battery operated LED's. I'll attemt to build um before I buy a pair already done. I like the challenge.
Thanks for looking at my new prop.
A big THANK YOU to everyone on this site for inspiring me to attemp to build these things. If it wasn't for this place I'd have never even known what a Flying Crank Ghost was.
The rig is complete now I gotta get the cheesecloth so I can get the ghost completed.

The rig looks great! I hope you like that slower speed.
In regards to the LED lights you might consider not using them. This was hashed out in another thread here: what color led eyes for crank ghost?

i also prefer no leds
creepier with no lights, or if you prefer leds, experiment with brightness

Thanks for the positive comments. I think the ghost is a project for next weekend. I'll get the fabric during the week & build over the weekend.
Stay tuned...

I am a skull for a head and no led kind of guy myself!
And as I am sure all here will say about a FCG "it is a BIG hit on Halloween night" with or without the led eyes!
