OK, I know one thing I'm getting for Christmas , the webcaster that Spirit was selling this season (we saw it the day after at 50% off, wife offered to make it a Christmas present - how could I refuse?)
So, any recommendations/cautions/suggestions? I've got a decent pancake type compressor with a pressure regulator - any suggestions beyond those that I am assuming are includd in the directions?

    Thanks!

Sorry, no suggestions. I am however interested to see what others say.
I made my own that worked well for a couple seasons, then broke.
Hot glue and compressed air is the best way to make realistic web. I want to buy a webcaster for next year. Should nbe able to get a good price in the off season. Which glue sticks work best?

Pancake compressor will work fine as long as you are not trying to do some thing that is 5 ft + away. You don't need a whole lot of air to make it work, it will just run constantly. Usually you end up having to wait for the gun more than anything. Glue is glue you just want the glue hot. The more wattage in your gun the less amount of waiting you will have to do when webbing.

Two tips in using a web gun.

    1) You need to pull the trigger as slow as possible 2) When you start a line you may need to tip the gun forward. When you first pull the trigger there is a drop and it likes to flip up onto the tip. When you tip it down it goes out instead.

Number two may just be a problem I have cause I made my own.

I bought one also at 50% 0ff at Spirit on 11/1 I tried it out when I got home with it. It seemed pretty easy, but like others have said, you need to work the trigger very slowly, otherwise you have a big blob come out and it just hangs on the end of the nozzle or falls on your shoe : )

Why pay all that money for something that you can make for a couple of bucks? I already had a glue gun, so for about $2 I made my own webshooter: Webshooter

Not everyone has a glue gun already, and besides if you get it at 50% off it is only $25.00.

Ok, so to many people $25 might not be much money, but if you live paycheck to paycheck, $25 can be all the difference. Plenty of people already have a a glue gun, and if not, you can still get all the parts for about less than $25. Besides, why waste money if you don't have to?
