Hey all, im new to this site... this year was my first year going big with halloween everythign was homeade turned out very well though... pretty expensive because i had no lighting...i had to buy lights... lol
anyways!!!
next year halloween 2011 i want to go big.. i was going to turn my front yard into a home haunt with plastic sheeting and fog machines and actors at the turn of every corner... i made a listing not to long ago on a haunted house website on long island so im hoping to get alot of people to go through and make donations and what not.
Basic rooms:
doll room
vortex light hallwats with fog machine.
graveyard through doll room window.
clown room
butcher shop
bug hallway
and a few lifesize zombies to be outside by the crowd waiting to enter!
I made a cool name: Chris's house of terror!
problem: What do a home haunt entitle! i need some experienced home haunters sharing whart they do when they start how they set up what props they made and how big their haunted house is also like where they have it and the amount of people that show. Just to get it proxcessed in my head what i need to do!
Any replys would be awesome and comments questions good ideas would spark my imagination dont be afraid to hollor!
Thanks all,
chris the begginer![]()

Welcome to the family here ! all i can say is 1st off, having reliable help on the big nite. If your doing it all yourself, well build it up. How many people do you get ? & If your taking donations / charging, we've discussed this & the legal stuff that goes with it. Liability is a big concern if you take money in any form including donations.
Check your local Salvation army & thrift stores, I've bought a lot of good stuff like lighting there for cheap. We've all started small & built things up over the years & experiences with it - including the lil technical last minute problems that always pop up......
Take you time & hang out here, look thru past posts & tutorials loads of stuff. Also at the top of this Props page is a thread I started on places to visit with prop building stuff for home haunters - hauntprojects.com, monsterlist, etc & other that have posted sites, it's all here for ya as we are. If ya need any sound effects, give me a "scream" LoL I have a lot you can use as do a few others on here.

Unfortunately those cd players nothing you can do but hit replay, I have a couple of those I have to do that to. I just try to burn the cd with repeating track to help.
Sometimes "old school" scare tactics work great too.....When you look in the mirror at midnight,....what looks back at you.........
