So how many of you that used magic mirror & how did things go ?

I was planning on using a large flat screen, but due to time & a friend giving me an awesome oval picture frame with scroll work, also a little large, but ran with it & stapled on a piece of plastic shower curtain to the rear ( same as what i used for Hallowindows projection ) & rear projected it ! It was larger than planned it to turn out but came out better than I expected !

I swapped thru out the nite between the different backgrounds of fire,etc,..... & even non with the face "waking up" from invisible to visible, the kids loved it & even hung out to talk to it, parents were flat out amazed & couldn't figure out how it was interacting with people......
A few kids kept asking "it" if it was from Snow white mirror LoL, it would answer "that was my cousin". Overall other than the Hallowindows & one of Hi-rez's vids I used in the upper windows, Magic Mirror was the hit & main attraction of the nite !

So how did yours play out ??

Sounds like a great idea you had Darklord. Love the kids' question. They do say the darnest things.

I haven't made one of these yet but I think the potential for neighborhoods with young kids like mine is tremendous as a crowd pleaser. Your post just confirms that. Any chance you got some pics or better yet video of it?

BTW love more info on your setup with placement of the computer keyboard. Who was the mirror this year?

Yes kids do, & so did some adults ! LoL Had 1 lady thought it was just a video playing & commented out loud that she thought it was cool, the mirror "turned" to her & said " thank you, I'm a cool magic mirror" she freaked & asked if it was talking to her & it said " of course, i don't see any other pretty ladies here that think I'm cool..." her jaw dropped & silently walked out.....LMAO

That was one of numerous funny situations, so I wouldn't hesitate on it, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the responses from ToTers !!!! It WILL be a hit especially if you get alot of kids.

One thing is that your puppeteer will need to be creative when responding-imagination responses. My puppeteer this year never used it before, but got the hang of it quickly & funny thing loved doing it so much, I couldn't relieve him, he worked it thee whole nite !! LoL

My vid ended up getting erased by accident, but did have someone send me a quick sweep that shows it, but unfortunately not any performances..... & 1 pic of it in the background........

I had a clown room with the mirror inside a tent, the mirror hanging up with a hole behind it for the projection. Projector was about 10-12 ft back to fill the frame & the puppeteer was off to the side outside of the tent. I had a long VGA cord to the projector & used a karaoke machine on "echo" for the voice that worked great ! Puppeteer was off to the side & I used heavy black netting to hide him but so he had a view of people. No one ever saw him ! I also had a Creature Reacher clown hanging around, so as to keep attention were I wanted it & not to puppeteer.
The set up was also on the fly as help didn't arrive as planned so the whole deal was as I went......

We've used the MM for the past 3 years and it is always a big hit. Our magic mirror tells a corny Halloween joke to the TOTers and then directs them to the candy.

It's a "Giggles" Creature Reacher clown,http://creaturereachercostume.com/Gi...r-Costume.html, bought it of EBay for $60 shipping included, usually $250+ .( Can be found cheaper / on sale right about now for $150+ & shipping... )
Plus being that alot of people have had problems with the sleeves being WAY too short on this Creature Reacher clowns, the person I got it from added sleeving material, so was all ready to go !
Toters really got freaked with him, even a number of adults - LoL I have a few other creature reachers, no one around here has ever seen or heard of these, so he was a big hit in the Twisted klown room
The funniest thing was that the guy that was in the costume HATES clowns, but didn't have a problem with being this one, LoL
