i just recently purchased uncle charlie and the bite sized clown from spirit during thier sale.
got me to thinking, next year i'd like to include a few more clowns in the display.
today i decided to use up some of the left over scraps from halloween to build a little terror clown (a clown of short stature)
originally i had planned on using this cheap clown suit/prop.
and then i remembered i had a much nicer foam face.
heres the actual structure i built.
the arm holes in the clown costume are sewn shut. i'll have to unstitch/re-sew them. its the reason the arms aren't in the first 2 pic's.
heres my problem.
i had planned on painting this foam face to look like a clown.
now i have it together, i'm having a hard time seeing the clown inside.
i'm on the fence. should i paint his face to match the outfit, or should i leave the face and find new duds for my little terror?
i've thought about a kids tux with tails, military threads even a different clown suit. the more i think about it, the more unclear i get.
clown or other, what do ya think?
and if other was your selection, what do you suggest?
thx guys and gals

If you want a zombie clown I would paint over the zombie face...however why not just make another frame and put the clown head on it and do the tux on this one ? Sort of a mini Cryptkeeper...the more little terrors running around the better I say !
How does you Bitesize CLown prop work ? I bought one from the local Spirit store but I'm pretty sure it's head is broken..the thing has audio but no motion and lights at all.

bite size shakes violently, laughing with light up eyes.
my uncle charlie was un-opened in the box. motion worked but eyes and sound didn't.
i looked inside the head and 2 wires where cut clean through. now it looked to be these wires where cut with scissors or a very sharp knife. (in shop)
i'd take a peek inside, chances are the problem will be staring you in the face.
i thought about doing this guy as a circus ringleader, but i think i'm leaning more along the lines of a general. oversized military type sport jacket with a chest full of medals (made of skulls, bones etc) i'd try to find some small combat boots and some tasseled lapels for his shoulders.
still on the fence. guess he'll sit in my living room being stared at for just a few more days.
(like i needed an excuse.lol)

I got an Uncle Charlie too..but he was a display model..oddly enough he worked fine...but the Bite Size seems to more issues than I thought..if I had realized it I could gotten him for a bit less I bet. I though of opening him up..but it's all glued and sewed together. His head and arms are really loose if I tilt him back and forth he moves quite a bit. I'm considering looking for a rocking motor to put underneath him..maybe place him in a crate or a box.
Yeah just let him set there until inspiration strikes..I've done that many a time..
