I have one of those tekky toy hovering ghosts from last year or maybe the year before. He worked perfectly when I tested him then and has been in a box ever since. I am assembling him for my party this weekend and noticed he wont sway.
The pole extends so he goes full height but just sits there, then it retracts and at the end he sways a bit to get back into position. I remember him swaying at full height and have no clue if he is fixable or Im just stuck with him benig this way now.
He was my favorite prop and I looked forward to this animation, but now he is just annoying moaning guyAny suggestions on a fix is appreciated.

There is a white cord that has to be plugged into the base and the head. Check those when moving mine those would come undone and it would not move. Hope that is all it is!

I know, my bigger connector comes a bit loose on one side, so I was holding it while running the ghost. He extended but didnt sway
He would retract and at the very end of the animation he would sway once into sitting position, so I know its capable, its just not performing it.

Try the following two things, but first check and make certain the batteries are fresh. If you are using a universal power adapter, don't. Either use the exact power adapter made for the prop or use fresh batteries. If there is still problems-
When it extends and sits there, turn the power switch to the pad sensor setting. This will reset the prop and it will sit idle until stepping on a pad sets it off. That's not what you want so after the reset, put the prop back to the on position. If this fails to clear it try this-
When the props extends and sits there, turn the switch to the off position. It will remain extended. With the prop off, gently holding the head, push the extension arm all the way back down. Turn the prop back on. This should reset it too. I did just this with a new one I bought this year. It rose and just sat there. I did this very thing and it cleared it. If none of this works, you have yourself a defective prop- the problem most likely is the module which is all but impossible to correct.
Good luck.

When you insert the module into the base, be sure to give a quarter turn to the module to lock it into place. This will also perfectly place the wire harness so it won't pull when the prop performs.I know, my bigger connector comes a bit loose on one side, so I was holding it while running the ghost.

I have noticed that some of my props only work properly with duracell batteries. The cheap ones just don't seem to have enough power.

alright, just tested things out again. First thing I changed from a 6v adapter to batteries and tried him, he barely budged this time, so I looked at the wire connector that kept coming up. I noticed there was some hotglue that keeps the wires to the base overlapping the one side that kept coming up, thus losing a solid connection. So I cut away with a box cutter to make the snappy parts clear of goop. Pushed it in and tried it again and bammo! He friggin works! Im so happy right now! Thanks guys for helping me out, I all but gave up on him and you helped me lots. :3 Now if he acts up again I know what to try since this time it was simply goop that prevented a good connection, and probably needing to use batteries.
