Growler....with this being our 1st group project and with it starting in Feb. we will just take as long as we need to be sure that all students have their project finished before we move onto the next scheduled project.
I been pretty busy over the holidays & we just had our 1st meet & greet of the LOCAL North Carolina prop building group. We had a party on the 3rd so I been pretty busy but now I'll get back to work on here. First I'll be contacting & lining up the next project instructor & we will get the materials list posted. We will not post a starting date right from the start, first we'll wait & see how long it takes everyone to complete this 1st project.
Also I'll PM Dustin to have her post her project title & materials list for the craft project which is listed as" Project #2". Last time I talked to her she was deciding what she was going to offer to the group to make. Please understand here, we have 2 projects going simultaneously, one is a more advanced project, one is an easier project.
Please everyone remember for those of you that were afraid to tackle these more difficult projects, this group is especially for you. No matter how many questions you may have we will take you throuh these harder projects so don't get intimated by what you may see in the materials list or in the instructions. We are here to help those that want to do these more difficult projects but have no idea where to start......that is a perfect example of me!lol

Is it to late to join this group?? This year I wanted to learn how to build my own props, and this sounds like the perfect place to start. Where, by chance, do I find the materials list? So excited

Michael Myers 1 I posted an answer for you in the thread "Mechanical Newbie" to get you to the materials list. For future reference all materials list will be posted in the project instructors thread. The reason Dave did not post his materials list first on that thread was because he was doing some last minute work on the project so he asked if he could post the materials list when he was done.....thats why its on page 2 of that thread.
Also the prop building group is a group you can join at any time for projects and you can also join the social group we have. If you go to your profile page scroll down & look for joining social groups there on the right side of the page....that will get you to where you will find the group & then just click on & join. Please if you have any questions let us be of help.

Dave any chance you could give a quickee course on building those paper mache hands for those of us that want to learn to make those? I guess it could run along side the actual construction of the main project unless you wanted to teach that prior to starting the main project or even maybe start it now if you have time. That would help some of us have our hands done & drying before we assemble the main project. Would that be ok with you & with everyone else......please its just a suggestion so speak up people!lol

Hey Muffy, that would be a good idea! Let me get some materials together and I'll start taking some pics of how it's done so anybody that wants to do it can get started. It's a fairly easy and quick project.

Charlie Brown: Yes, I guess I have.
Linus: Well that is nothing compared to the fury of a woman who has been cheated out of tricks or treats!

Anybody got a Canadian source for the motor and adaptor? (Otherwise it looks like shipping will cost more than the actual parts.)
Thanks.Something wicked this way comes...

I'm hoping I can make this suggestion without sounding rude. I figure I would rather put this out here now since we are all learning to be a group to build things. My first suggestion is that if you use a specific place to buy things, can the person put in a link to the site? Secondly and lastly (for now
) can the parts list be put into a pf format or some way to download it? My handwriting is terrible and it took about 10 min. just to write down this list. That and there will be less of a chance in writing it down wrong.
Thanks,
