Default Free programs for mixing music???

Does anyone know of any decent free programs for mixing music? For my cemetery I want to have a Midnight Syndicate song playing while various subtle sound effects come and go. I have the MS cd and PLENTY of sound effect cd's to get all my sounds from, I just need a place I can mix them together.

Thanks!

I think you can mix with Godlwave nad Audactiy, but I've never tried doing it myself. I always do my mixes with Windows XP Sound Recorder, but you can only mix wav files with it.
