Default Anybody Help a noob?

Hey all, I am new to the prop controllers and sound recorders. I'm hoping that somebody has had this issue and has solved it.

Last year I purchase one of the Cowlacious servo controller boards and loved it. This year I purchase three of the CAP200 and One of the CAR/P200. I'm running into an issue.

I have tried recording and I know it is, but the sound is so faint. I've tried recording from three different sources. First was my big desktop computer, then I tried my laptop, finally I tried my iPod. Even with all sources turned to the max and the volume on both units up as high as I can go. I can barely hear anything with the speaker volume at the max.

I am running it though powered amplified computer speakers and I have tried using sound software to boost the volume, but that just comes out sounding pretty bad.

I even tried the headphone jack on the speakers and turned it up, that was just so distored I can't use it.

I really want to get this to work, because I would like to trigger these off of my Prop1 and 2

Any suggestions?

Geez, I wish I could be of more help but I'm really sure what the problem would be.

Hopefully some of the other members will be able to help you out.

Thanks, I may have discovered an issue with the chips. I purchase four chips from him. One was the 17180 and three are the 17120. The 17180 and one of the 17120's are working great. I can record and play back with plenty of volume. The other two don't, they also don't seem to record for the full time. I have sent an e-mail to the support of Cowlacious and am waiting a reply.

Just talked with Terry at Cowlacious and he thinks the chips didn't get initialized, he is sending replacements out. What a great guy, great service.

Ended upi purchaseing additional stuff from him on the spot.

Default Recording level

The recording level of the mp3 might have been low. You might need to rerecord the mp3 and boost the level. If you don't have the software pm me.
