Just wondering if anyone has any good music or sound effects that work well in their yard haunts. Last year I found a few from Nox Arcana that I really liked and burned onto a cd to use in our display. Is there any other good ones out there?

There are endless sounds you could use! Are you looking for cemetery-related sound effects or more toward horror movie scores? I would definitely check out the huge index of Halloween songs and see what people are saying in the music thread, like davidsdesire said.

I made one last year, mostly using free sound effects, and adding some I recorded myself. It had a solid backdrop of crickets chirping--about 15 minutes of that--and then, every 45 seconds or so, there would be an animal or ghost sound happening to the left or the right. I used owls and cats and wolves for the occasional animal sounds, and recorded my own voice making spooky ghost sounds.

The basic idea was, instead of constantly having weird stuff happening, the soundscape would sound creepy but natural most of the time (crickets, night animals) and then occasionally something really weird (a ghost) would be heard.

A lot of people walking by were not immediately aware they were even hearing a sound effects track...until something weird occurred...!
    "WHAT'S out there?"

"I don't know.......it was little and brown, and low to the ground!"
