Can you guys help we with some ideas I have? I'm trying to make a western-themed haunt which ain't easy. The music / sounds will make or break it and there is not a lot to choose from. Your ideas/feedback would really help.

Outside the haunted house I was thinking of having this music for the line to set the western mood. Maybe it might be possible to mix in a few screeches or ghoulish laughs to make it more halloweeny. It's a beautiful song and very western but people may think it's a little weird to be outside a haunted house.

In the entry hall I was going to paint wanted posters with black light paint, and have this more ominous music. This also might be modified a bit but it's pretty creepy already.

In the first room, I was thinking of putting a vampire gunslinger in front of a western facade I will build. Maybe with this music which is western but a little neutral.

The next room would be kept dark or pitch black and I will have a scare in there. (it can be a person, or i might buy a motion sensor unit that can flash a strobe on some scary figure when triggered). No explicit theme idea for that room yet. But is some more fairly neutral music from that same soundtrack

The next room will have two werewolves and a full moon painted with black light paint with some dead tree branches. One wolf will get your attention and the other one will scare you. This is some howling music I found. Not very western so I'm starting to lose the theme at this point.

This picture shows the feel that I am going for (but no phantom)

    Feedback/ideas?

Ghoultown had a very good western-themed album released in 2000 called "Tales From the Dead West". Nice mix of instrumental and vocal tracks. Also consider music from the soundtrack of "Paris, Texas" ... or anything else on this playlist.

    Cool choices

Check out the Assasination of Jesse James Soundtrack. Some really cool stuff on there.

I recommend, if it fits the theme, giving some old Western groups a listen...Sons of the Pioneers with Cool Water, Ghost Riders, etc etc, if lyrics and old timey/slightly antique and ominous plus place setting is wanted. My haunt is western themed also
