Last Christmas I made some salt dough Snowmen and I really wanted to make some Halloween ones. So about a month ago I made these.

    Before baking

Baked - a little over done oops!

    Painted and sealed

These are cool. I've been tempted to do salt dough ornaments for a while now. Did you just use a basic salt dough recipe?

    I used
    1 cup salt
    2 cups all purpose flour
    1 cup water

That made all the projects seen in the photos.

I'm not 100% sure on the temp, but I think I had it on 170 (as low as my oven goes) for 2-3hrs so avoid cracks. Then if they weren't drying enough I upped it to 200ish. And every hour I took a look in the oven to see if they were done. If they seemed good on the sides and top, I'd tilt them on their side so the bottom would bake better.

I'm surprised you haven't heard of Salt Dough. As children we made many, many, many Christmas ornaments with the stuff. It's great!

I made ornaments with all kinds of stuff as a kiddy, but never this. Thanks for posting the recipe you used. :-)
