Greetings,
Does anyone know the diffrence between DAP Webpatch 90 and DAP Plaster of Paris. I notice that at Home Depot they have them on the shelf right next to each other. They have the same packaging, but one is blue and white and the other is red and white. The price is about $1.50 less for the Webpatch 90. Is this the same product but in a diffrent container? Any information will be appreciated. Thanks.
Can you use it like plaster of paris? They both are gypsum products, and they both harden in about 30 min. The only diffrence is that the P.O.P is 2 to 1 and the other is 3 to 1 making it thicker. Both product say you can patch things up with them, but one says that it is a floor leveler. I was thinking of using it to make a mold like plaster of paris. I am going to see if it is the same product and use the 2 to on ratio also. The small batch only cost me $6.00 and if it does not work. I can always use it around the house. If it does the same thing as the plaster of paris, then it is only the wording and package that makes it diffrent. It could be a business thing also. I can remember a will back. People would use plaster of paris to level floors before the put the floor tile. I will keep everyone posted.
If you can afford to lose the money--take a chance. I can't find anything on the internet that tells me the difference between webpatch and PoP except the webpatch sets up and dries faster and with 0% shrinkage. There's some additive in there that does that but it doesn't seem to be anything that would affect its use. the only drawbacks i can see would be that it might not set right if you change the mix ratio or it might not get the level of detail yu want if you mix it as labeled. but if you can afford to make the experiment it could be worth a try. Good luck
