What materials do you guys use to make zombie babies l bought a lots of love doll from the salvation army store here for $3.99 and l want to make a vampire baby. I'm wondering what paints and materials you use to paint the doll and also to make fangs....Also what do you use around the eyes to paint them the outside black and also the lips and her eyes are pale blue........thanks for any help.

You should speak to Graven13 her and her Mom, make the most amazing horror reborn dolls. If you're painting on a vinyl doll Genesis heat set paints are used by the pros and give stunning results.

I do porcelain dolls, I sometimes use matt spray paint for a base. I mostly use acrylics and finish it off with a matt varnish/sealer spray.

For my zombie baby i used acrylic and poster paints for the body, cut out tiny triangles of cereal box card for the teeth and glued them in the mouth then painted them white.
Ive posted a pic of my doll to show what i mean.

Lady Jack, that looks great!

I've done a couple of dolls. I first corpsed them with either latex caulk or Liquid Nails for Foam. After they dry completely, I spray them with a primer made for plastic (like the lawn chairs) and then use acrylic paints. A stipple brush for stenciling works great to shade black around the eyes. On one I just painted the lips black but on the other I cut down and fit a pair of hillbilly teeth inside the mouth.

I've only done one, and I used cheapo acrylic craft paint and latex flat interior paint

I've used polymer clay to make horns and claws and fangs for other projects, and I bet it would be useful for teeth and such on dolls. Then again, airdry clay like Crayola Model Magic would probably work too.
Buy a set of inexpensive brushes with varying points and widths for the detail work. Use the narrowest pointiest ones for lining the eyes and outlining the lips. I find sponge-tipped brushes useful for shading, but not on delicate areas like the face.

HTH. That baby you picked up would make such an adorable vampire with little fangs stuck in that great big grin!!!

I so want to make a zombie baby now!!!!!! i showed hubby the one by lady jack o lantern and even he was like you know... you could put it in a cradle or something and swaddle it like a real baby and rig it to sit up real fast....

maybe I found the sweet spot to his non halloween loving self...LOL
