Tim Burton, Peanuts, this year an old timey Halloween theme.
We have two perfect Halloween trees out front.
So far, I have over 60 flameless votives in amber and white. My vision is not complete, so I come to you all for help.
Hang painted reused recycled re re bottles from the trees with proper wire (gets windy around here) with the Halloween colored bottles (which will have a votive in them) make bats out of felt (and spray them down with waterproofing stuff) and put flameless votives in them.
The other tree will have bottles, ghosts and sugar skulls.
How can I create big enough things to hang that will make the votives stand out.
Also, I see so many cool vintage Halloween cards. I can't seem to find vector images so that I can blow them up, get them printed, laminted and put them up. Any ideas?
What else can I put in the yard?
The hubster is going as an undertaker, me as a witch. We will need to buy/make some coffins to stack up.
We have lots of hang up plastic bats.
Ideas and how to follow through much appreciated!

p.s. I am looking on etsy for unpainted sugar skulls.

Take a look over at Hope's thread she started - she painted soup can lids, and hung them on her tree and they look amazing!! You could do something like that, maybe spray them with a sealer after you painted, to weatherproof? You could do all kinds of things on them - let your imagination run wild!!

You could paint and cut used cans into Jack o'lanterns. Straight cuts with a dremel cutoff wheel would not be that difficult to cut triangles for eyes, nose and crooked mouth. drill holes at the top rims to run cord or wire to hang from trees.
Here's an idea to punch the face with nails if you can't cut:

Here is an example of cutting a face into a can to make a lantern:

Spray with brown then dry brush with orange. Ever dry brush with spray paint? ...spray a puddle onto a coated paper plate or other coated paper (don't use foam plate,) then dab a scrunch of white paper, or if you don't care about transfer of ink use newspaper, and swipe. You have to move quickly and carefully.
