I was recently inspired to make Halloween string dolls after reading Trixr4kids812's post in the Tutorial Request section (located here). If you don't know what a string doll is then let me explain- A string doll is a super cute Voodoo charm that is made entirely out of one continuously wound strand of string (and a few accessories are usually glued on to the doll afterwards). These dolls come in millions of different styles, some have meanings, some are just awesome without a meaning. They are usually used as cell phone charms, purse charms, or keychains.

These are two that I have made recently. The first one is my string doll interpretation of a Halloween night, he carries a little pumpkin bead. The second is a Lucky Devil keychain that I made for my friend. I'm probably going to make more of them and stick them in a wreath because I think they are just so darn cute. Just wanted to share, enjoy!

Those are so cute. I like how you made one into a keychain. I'm sure your friend will like it.

Thank you!! She liked it a lot and I've already had requests for more. There's so many different ways to decorate them, it's endless fun.

My daughter (16) just started to make these dolls. The first one she made was red and she sent a picture over her phone to her friends. At first they all said, "Eww, that's creepy!", but when she went to school they all wanted one. She's had requests to make an angel, a devil, one with a surfboard, and even a horse (which she did).

There's a teen market for these dolls. She gives them away, but meanwhile my supply of yarn, chenille sticks and buttons is rapidly dwindling.

Linus: You've heard about fury and a woman scorned?
Charlie Brown: Yes, I guess I have.
Linus: Well that is nothing compared to the fury of a woman who has been cheated out of tricks or treats!

Thanks guys. I've always had a thing for them but when I found the originals in store I was put off by the price tag. They're about twelve bucks each for the exact same size o.o much easier to just make your own and you can customize them this way.
