Found the pie potpourri holder at a garage sale for $1. Took some rubber maggots intended for use as fishing bait (75 cents at a different garage sale), cut off the ends, ran thin wire through them so they'd flex and bend. Topped off with two dollar store cockroaches (10 cents each). My total cost: $1.95.
Bon appetit!

That's an amazing job and very realistic. My only advice would be to maybe paint it up a little and make it look old and moldy

What a great pie! You did a great job coming up with this, and all for 1.95! Can't beat that. I gotta thank you for including that the maggots are for fishing lures. I need maggots like that and I haven't really seen any I like. Now I'll have to check out the bait and tackle departments.

Funny you mention roaches - just last week I was happily digging into my Wendy's frosty when I felt something "weird" on my tongue. Yeah. It was a dead cockroach.
And FYI, there wasn't much taste. But I did promptly puke about a dozen times.

This is so cool! Great idea with the fishing lures and even better idea to thread wire through them to make them bendable. Would have never thought of that.
