Thread: larger than life size plants

Anyone have any ideas on how to make plants that are oversized? IE a philodendron with 3ft long leaves? Or something of the sort? i want oversized plants to make it look like the inside of my house is a giant rainforest...

for the leaves, you could buy fabric and cut out the large leaf shapes and spray them with starch to mold them into droopyness. You can attach them to pvc bases wrapped in more fabric, just go around and around or with paper strips and mache'd to the PVC for texture, paint in colors you want. greens and browns, ect.

other than that I know there are fake plants like that, weve owned a few over the years but can be expensive unless you find a store closeout or end of summer sale. I would check into Dillards, I used to work there and we always had life sized plants to buy on sale at the end of summer clearance.

One final thought is to look on craigs for free plant giveaways, for either real or fake.
