I am making my daughter a doll for xmas again....last year made her a saw doll...turned out great. This year i am making her a chucky doll.
I found an old doll and have painted it with craft paint and used some clay for extra features. Well ...the doll is like a vinyl or rubber. I used mod podge to seal it but it seems to be lifting a bit....so i had some water based floor sealer and used it.Now it is cracking a bit but it is hardening.Any ideas to seal it? should i keep trying the floor sealer or go back to the mod podge?
I would hate to have to peel of the whole thing and start new.Since i have stitches in and everything.Try to get a pic of it up.Thanks

Okay finally charged batteries for camera....heres a pic of the doll so far....actually doesnt look bad with the cracking. Makes it look old. Took the eye tut in here and will show pics when done. Took the doll right apart and hubby welded some bars for the legs and arms , then poured plaster paris in legs to make him stand up....will post those soon. Any ideas would be great.

Thank you !
Well he's 98 % done. A few tweeks here and there. Should have made him taller....he looks so short and fat....but she'll love him anyway.

I would think a normal spray paint sealer would work. It would probably need to be matte though so it doesn't make him all glossy looking but then again maybe that would work so his wounds (stitches look like they are oozing).
Great job btw.

"We accommodate the living, but who shall accommodate the dead?"
"We say haunted, but we mean the house has gone insane."

Not being too experienced working with flexible plastics, I would imagine Gothikren's suggestion would be the way to go. However, definitely do a test on a little area of the doll that wouldn't be too detrimental if it doesn't work. I've found spray sealers that are labeled matte are more like satin or even a low shine, especially if you apply several coats. Maybe go to your local hardware store and ask if they have a matte spray sealant that is designed for spraying on polymers. Not sure if you had already sealed him since it looks like you've already added hair and all of his trappings (which look great), and if you have sealed him I wouldn't mind hearing what your solution was.
Excellent work! Jigsaw is amazing and what a delightfully diabolical transformation your Chucky doll went through!
