One more thing added to my to do list.......

Has anyone painted their own shower curtain?

I just haven't found any premade ones that I'm crazy about. I saw a few on ebay that were more like halloween silhouettes that were hand painted---just for WAY more than I'd pay for one.
I'm not sure if I should just get a vinyl one and either paint or marker it, or use a fabric curtain and fabric paint. I'm just worried about the paint holding up with the heat and water.

I did a post search for shower curtain and came up with these:

Does anyone decorate the bathroom? About using stencils

Does anyone decorate the bathroom? bloody curtain

If you make your own stencils out of thick paper, (large box for a shadowy figure) you could use spray paint and it would go pretty fast. That would be the best paint to use, with acrylic being second. The spray paint is enamel and will hold up better and has the advantage of fast application. I've had my bloody curtain for two years, and the paint is holding up well.

I'd get a cheapy clear vinyl curtain from the dollar store or the like.

I presume this is a classic vinyl shower curtain.

    If so, you can -
a.) use acrylic latex paint, let it dry completely, hang it and avoid getting it wet as it will peel and flake.

b.) go to a paint store like Sherman Williams and ask for paint made for vinyl siding. It may not have a lot of flexibility, but it will stay on the vinyl, wet or otherwise, once it cures.

Why not use a white cloth shower curtain like you often see in hotels. You could then you dye or cloth paint. After halloween decor comes down, you can wash it and put it away till next year.

Lol! Thanks Frankies girl! I tried searching for shower curtains, I guess I was being way too specific!
I love the idea of painting on the ceiling in glow in the dark paint like the poster in that one thread! They painted "I'm under the bed" on the guest room ceiling!

I think the design is going to be way too detailed for a stencil and spray paint. I would definitely have to brush it on. I've been looking online and snapping pictures of haunted house silhouettes for a week now with my phone

I'm picturing something like this, just without the color

I'm going out shopping tonite to look for paint, I'll keep everyone updated.
I think I might try a fabric curtain and see if I can find some paint with a shimmer to it.

I'm definitely keeping the vinyl curtain idea in the back of my mind, that would be great to add to my BOOing baskets!
