Thanks xkwisit! That's nice to hear from someone who worked as a floral designer
Annea, thanks....I wasn't sure what color I was going to use till I hit the market. I was thinking of red or purple since the coffin will be painted black. Well red won since it was 50 euro cent a meterMade me extremely happy haha Geesh, I'm becoming so dutch! I bought 5 meters and then thought, well maybe I should buy a couple of extra meters to be sure but by the time I got back some college student had bought up the rest of the red to make something to hang out his window....go figure. I couldn't find any upholstery pins though. Baron offered to send some if I can't find them here. Have one large fabric store I want to check first before I ask him.

Funeral wreaths often have a ribbon running through it that has Father, Mother etc on it. I would suggest a black ribbon and if you go to your local florist they will sell you the stickers that say father, mother, beloved etc for under $1. It makes a great detail.

Thanks cinderelly

PirateHouse- Yeah, I hadn't thought about that. Who could the flowers be from? We've invited our guests to attend the funeral of their long, long lost Uncle Cadaver (sounds better in dutch lol). At the end of the service there will be a reading of the will. So I'm guessing the funeral parlor arranged the flowers lol with the rich uncle's own money.

Well, of course you would then have your ribbon say Uncle. probably wouldn't be hard to make yourself with some big ribbon or fabric and glue and glitter.

This one isn't going with what you need but I thought it was neat to show...they are funeral wreaths someone found in China

Wow si-coktic you did my homework for me hahaha
Thanks!
I think I'll go with a wide black ribbon with uncle written on it, hanging from the bow in the middle of the wreath. Shame that the dutch word for uncle is only 3 letters long lol Oom.

How about instead of Uncle or Oom on the Ribbon you put "Beloved". That is often used in funeral arrangements.
