This is sooo cheap and easy! These candles are made of PVC pipe. All different widths and sizes. I used what my husband had in the basement. So I just cut them to the length I wanted, Then I used the glue gun to dribble "wax" over the side and glue cardboard on the bottom and then filled to candle up with left over material I had around. Then I measured around the flicker lights and cut out little cardboard circles to put the tea lights in. Then I filled in the rest of the candles with cheap air dry clay

Then just paint and you're done! When you're ready to use them, turn the tea light on and drop them in!

Ooh, I hadn't seen anyone do black ones before. Lovely!

I made a little group of them last year--easy, cheap, and really dramatic! Great addition to any haunt where flame is a no-no

I can not wait to start working on mine!! I bought the PVC yesterday!

I was going to order the red hot glue online...but I HATE to order online, cuz I'm just that IMPATIENT, and I may just use regular and paint it - is it much harder to paint it??

I am doing black and white too...oh and another poster on here did some in shades of brown that was really cool too!! I swear this site keeps me hopping!! LOL

    Thanks for the pics!

This idea will save my life AND my house!! In 2006, our kitchen caught fire the day after Halloween ( you should have seen the look on the fireman's faces when they stormed into our still-decorated home!) and it all had to be gutted and re-done. Years later, everyone still jokes that REAL candles should be banned from our house! Thanks for solving our Halloween candle desires and keeping us flame free in 2009! BOO! (one more project takes its place on the list. . . !
