Thread: Think I'll make a witch jar today.

I've got all the materials to make one. Jar, red and black paint, elmer's glue, real and fake tea lights.

I might even document the process in pictures(which will be a first) and post the whole thing online(which will also be a first).

So...yeah. I'll post the pictures when/if I get around to it! Wish me luck!

Good Luck... I've been working on one this week, but it's taking me forever. I'm trying a new idea!

Unforeseen stuff happened today, so I couldn't get around to making it. But tomorrow for sure.

OK! As soon as I manage to find the time! I have an album, on my profile, that shows some that I made last year. I can't wait to see yours too!!

I like them! I really like the bone idea too. Wish there was some place around here where I could find fake bones and yellow them up a bit.

Progress so far.





And this is the frosting finished after four coats. I miiiiight add one or two more coats tomorrow. Depending on how I feel.


Now all I need to do is get some black spray paint, give the inside a quick spurts or so, then take some of my red acrylic paint and splatter some in there for a dirty-ish look.

Nice! I always wondered how you got them to look old!

Cool!! I use matte Modge Podge instead of glue. For whatever reason I get really irritated with the glue. I'm still working on mine. VERY slowly...

And this is after 6 coats. I'm definitely stopping now. It's just the way I need it.



Later today I'll be spray painting black inside it, and then squirting some red acrylic inside as well.

Read a good idea about how to treat chicken bones so as not to attract bugs or bad smells, so once a chicken bone becomes available, I'll be adding it to the lid by some twine!
