I would love to know this, well. My daughter is crazy about birds and has had bird themed costumes the past two years. Finding a good source for feathers would be really helpful.
I'm the guy your mother should have warned you about.

Well i cant seem to find any cheap and still no ideas here...but i came across an article and lost it the same day lol about taking masking tape..fold it onto itself and cut it out.I tried it and it looks pretty good. Also found many articles about using craft foam also.So mayby i only need a few feathers and make a butt load.So thanks anyway ..thought i would share the other tips anyway.

How big do they have to be? Could probably find something down filled at a thrift shop for cheap maybe?

That would be cool...I found this site online, but then maybe you had already checked it out.

Might be worth watching Craigslist and other secondhand sources for feathery items you can disassemble for parts. Also, you might post a wanted ad on CL to see if you can get directly in touch with a farmer who can hook you up in bulk. You'd probably have to treat the feathers yourself, otherwise the natural mites that live on them will eventually eat the feathers, but it's not expensive to do so.
