Go here to download PDF file for tombstone template.

    Tombstone Directions:

Cut two tombstones from gray card stock or construction paper. Cut a narrow strip of gray to fit around the outside of the candy box, piecing the strip if necessary. On the front tombstone, add "RIP" at the top and the word "open" with an arrow pointing to the bottom.

Use dark gray pencils to shade the tombstone and letters. Add a silver gemstone, if desired, to the icon at the top and the middle of the arrow at the bottom. Hot-glue the gray strip around the outside of the candy box. Adhere tombstones to the front and back of the candy box, then stand up your masterpiece. The finished tombstone measures 3-1/4x6 inches.

    Mummy Dolls @ Woman's Day

Use felted fabric, some old gray buttons and black and red floss to customize each mummy doll.

    How to Make:

    Materials: Sport-weight white wool yarn (see Note); set of four size 10 double-pointed knitting needles; tape measure; fiberfill stuffing;
yarn needle; 2 medium black buttons; 2 small blue buttons; 3 small gray buttons; embroidery floss: black, red; embroidery needle; washing machine and dryer.

Note: Use 100-percent wool yarn for best results; acrylics and blends will not felt properly. Exact gauge is not important for this project. Consult a knitting book if needed for additional knitting and felting tips.

    Directions:

    1. Cast on 40 stitches, distributed across 3 needles, for head and body. Work in straight stitch until tube measures 41⁄2 inches long. Next
row, knit 2 stitches together across row (20 stitches remain). Next row, knit all stitches. Next row, increase 1 stitch in each stitch (40 stitches on needles). Continue until tube measures 6 inches long, then cast off.

    2. Stuff body (use more stuffing in head than in body), then sew each end of tube shut.

    3. Cast on 20 stitches, distributed across 3 needles, for arm. Work in straight stitch until tube measures 6 inches long, then cast off. Make
    another arm in same manner.

    4. Stuff arms (use more stuffing in hands than in shoulders), then sew each end of tube shut. Sew arms to sides of body, just below neck.

    5. To make each leg, work same as for arms, but continue working until tube measures 8 inches long. Stuff (use more stuffing in feet than in thighs), then sew each end of tube shut. Sew legs to bottom of body.

    6. Layer black and blue buttons in pairs; sew to face for eyes. Sew gray buttons to front of body.

    7. Using black floss, sew a jagged row of straight stitches to face for mouth. Using red floss, sew a satin stitch heart
    on chest.

    8. To felt doll, wash in very hot water, then dry on high heat. Repeat several times as needed to shrink doll and raise nap on wool. Wash and dry doll with towels to help fluff up the wool.

I love the dolls too. I am not much of a knitter, but I could sew the skeli doll. Unfortunately, i never found directions or a pattern for it. I am pretty good at looking at something and reproducing it. I migh take some time and create my own Skeleton doll from the picture.

Let me know if anyone makes anything, please post a pic!

I made a little sock skeleton doll a couple of months ago this reminds me off

He was made completely out of socks with little sewing required. I'm not much of a sewer and I found this quite easy. It's cute too I got the directions on how to make him from this website: http://www.marthastewart.com/265579/sock-skeleton

I have been looking for a pattern for the Skeleton Doll. I found one on Babylock.com under "Halloween Projects."

The directions are for use with a sewing machine but there is a pattern template and instructions, but it wouldn't be hard to do it by hand.

    Download PDF Booklet with Directions........
