I"m definitely doing it this year!

It's basically chalkboard paint on a pumpkin and then you write the days counting down with chalk

Awesome idea!

I also heard, that you can make your own chalkboard paint instead of buying it which can be expensive. Here's something I found about it

This is a great idea simple yet so original!
I've always wanted a countdown clock but never liked those I've seen for sale.

I actually have all the supplies for this project in my garage right now!
