Here is a piece of mine that I had made into a lenticular 3D lightbox. This is a new direction for me that I want to explore with other pieces of my work.

This example is much like the final product. It's much like viewing a 3D movie but without the glasses.

    Small version:

Here is a larger version: Wait for it to load. It's worth the wait.

That is very neat, but I'm a little confused as to what I'm looking at. Are you saying that this is what you created(animated gif), or an example of a printed lenticular? Just wondering.

The animated gif image is not too dissimilar to how the Nintendo 3DS, and now 3D smart phones replicate a 3d image. They are advanced enough to refresh about 15 images into a seamless 3D format. Much like a lenticular print is made up of about 10 or so images, filtered thru a special refraction lens that combines the images into a single 3D image.

I wish this was achievable with television or even projectors, but the technology just isn't here yet.
...I love the art work though! Is it a print, or are you just showing the animated sequence?
    Nice site!

    Hello and Thank you Eyegore!

This is my artwork and/or Illustration that I have made into a lenticular 3d piece. The 3d image you see here is an example as an animated gif to best simulate the printed lenticular piece. I sell my artwork at shows and now offere 3d pieces to my fans.

So basically I am showing my artwork integrated with this medium.

    Thanks for asking!!

    John

Your color pallet resembles that of Chromadepth 3D. Have you looked into this as another 3d option?

Eyegore, I have looked into Chromadepth and have many of their glasses. It is another option indeed but to maximize the effect you must use the warm and cool colors in such an order that the 3D effects are in the order they should be.

I have a few pieces I illustrated with this in mind and brought them to the shows I do as limited edition piece. The art comes with the glasses and has been very successful. I like bringing the glasses with me when I go to Disneyland. Certain rides are perfect to be wearing the glasses with. John

I love all your stuff and making things into 3D-esque is a sweet option.

Your awesome lenticular artwork kind of reminds me of the lamp I bought from you at Comic-Con last year - or was it the year before? Love it. It sits right there beside my bed.
