Last year the kids and I made ghosts out of empty soda cans. The kids had a lot of fun with it and it was a super cheap project that was fairly simple to do. It's also a green project that teaches recycling. Here is what we did.

    1. Drink soda or beer.

    2. Save the cans and thoroughly rinse them out.

    3. Allow to dry.

    4. Spray paint the cans white. It took two coats. That green on the Mt. Dew can was hard to conceal.

    5. We used puff paint to make the faces on the cans.

    6. We tied fishing line to the pop top and hung them in our Japanese Maple tree in our landscaping.

Mt. Dew is not required. Any soda or beer can will do. Just use your beverage of choice.

Japanese Maple trees are expensive and I don't recommend buying one just for this. You can hang the ghosts anywhere. We have even considered making a wind chime to hang on the front porch.

They might not be the sacriest part of our haunt, but the kids are proud to have made a contribution that they are proud of.

The picture doesn't really show all the different faces on the ghosts.

Very creative! It's cool to use everyday items as Halloween decor.

We talked about making pumpkins, but we were out of orange spray paint. We had plenty of white left over from another project.

Great project for kids! I am going to steal this for the craft to do during my daughter's Halloween Party. I always do a kid's party, and this will be the perfect craft for them. Love it!
