I would love to make freaky soaps or candles but use my own molds. How can I take my own objects, such as doll heads or fingers and make a mold out of it? Anyone know how to do this? Tutorials, kits anything?
Thanks for your help

I was looking last year to make molds of things - and HobbyLobby has mold making stuff - and not expensive either - just do a search on their website!

You can dip an object in liquid latex to make a mold and support it with plaster. If it has too many undercuts or is rounded like a dolls head you might have to do it in two parts. Although I don't know if soap would stick to latex as it dries... i've never tried it.
Hello, I want my book. Bonjour, je veux mon livre.

Hey Erin!
You can use latex, just make sure that you don't make the mold so thick that is becomes too stiff to remove the wax/soap without damaging it.
You might try a layer of latex, then a layer of latex-soaked spandex or nylon stocking for strength, then another layer of plain latex.
Silicone works better, but is much more expensive.
