Here is a paper mache fish I am working on. I used the Dan Reeder method of cloth mache. I just bought his "MONSTERS "book and it's very inspiring.
I have some more paint details to add and I need to scrape the paint off his teeth. but he is nearly done.
I wanted some scary wall trophies.....
I also would like to do another weird fish, a werewolf, and maybe one of Dan the Monster Man's awesome dragons.
Here is his blog if you would like more details.

Actually I may use some of his methods to make a really big shark !

That's pretty cool! A huge shark with a body part sticking out of his mouth would look neat

Mizerella, your fish is looking really good. I just started watching Dan's instructional videos, he's a hoot. Thanks for the link!

It's already been said but great coloring, and love the overlaping technique on the scales. Really nice job. How large is he? I was trying to use the bottle in the picture for scale and he looks pretty big to me. How do you plan on using him?

His kitty looks like my Augie!
I remember finding him when I first started looking into mache. Thanks for posting the link because I'd forgotten about him.Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, the best damn little band you should be listening to!

Hey thanks all for the compliments. I love Dans stuff and yes his dragons are amazing! I had never thought to do a dragon before but now I want to. His method is a lot of steps, and the stickiness of cloth mache is hard to get used to but the results a so cool.
My fish is a little over 2 ft long. So he is a good size catch. I am plan to get a wood plaque and attach him to the wall like a sporting trophy.
Now that I have it in my head to do a giant Shark I am a little obsessed with the idea but not ready to start.
