It's crocheted. I still like the first web I came across, but Brimstonewitch was looking for a free pattern. What I was searching for this morning had NOTHING to do with spider webs, nor crochet patterns, yet this popped up. A sign maybe????

Well, after exhausting my searches online for a good free spiderweb crochet pattern, I caved in and tried to purchase the one that GiggleFairy brought to my attention.
Much to my dismay, the seller never provided the pattern and I had to submit a claim over 5 stupid dollars to PayPal. At this point, its the principle of it all and being ignored by this seller.
Sooo, I wouldn't recommend this person to anyone in the future and if anyone has any other pattern resources for an awesome crocheted spiderweb I am all ears!!

What about something like this? http://www.sugarncream.com/pattern.p...5017&cps=21191
Sorry you got scammed. I'll ask around some of my crafting circles to see if anyone has a similar pattern to the one from that site.
This pattern is gorgeous. http://www.caron.com/projects/ss/ss_spiderweb.html

Brimstonewitch, I'm so sorry this happened to you. I would be SERIOUSLY P.O.'d as well and would have filed a claim. I've always had great luck with paypal in getting my money back on bad deals, so hopefully you will, too. That of course won't smooth ruffled feathers. I've run across a few more patterns, but since you hadn't posted here in 3 months I thought you'd moved on. Let me see what I can dig up - FOR FREE.

Brimstonewitch, this pattern is almost identical and totally free. http://www.snowcatcher.net/2010/10/webflake-monday.html

I think you could easily enlarge it or add more spokes, as well. Plus, it gives you a spider pattern for that extra special touch.

It's all good. Was just disappointing that it happened. Looks like PayPal will take care of it if I can't get the pattern.
However, that said...the last one that trentsketch posted with the fall tree in the background may be one that will work out. Will have to try it real soon and see how it looks. The yarn I currently have is quite a bit smaller so may need to buy a different type first.
Thanks gang! Keep me posted if you find anything cause I will try them all! It's Halloween, what more do you need to know.

What's strange about the pattern is that it calls for size 10 crochet cotton and a tiny needle, but it clearly done up in the sample with something much bigger. We just tried it with some Sugar & Cream thread and a size G hook and it went well enough. It does curl quite a bit when you reach the trtr, but I'm pretty sure the stretching and gluing will stiffen it up.
Here's the first one we did. It's being glued right now, but I figured seeing it in its natural state could help out. The thing starts to buckle inwards like a hat at the dbtr row.

The gluing and pinning works wonders on these. All the lumps and bumps are gone and there's a good bit of stiffness on the spokes to make it easier to display in a haunt. This pattern's a keeper.
