My first project post Halloween 2010 is my haunted dollhouse. My husband bought me a dollhouse to spook out but I took the thing out of the package and promptly put it aside, I didnt think I would ever get the dang thing put together... the instructions sucked to say the least LOL.
Well my 11 year old son () helped me put it together. We finished it in about 5 hours, funny how these kids are so smart these days
With construction finished I have now started working on my furnishings for my little haunted house. Oh by the way it is a half scale (1" = 2') and I have to say I am having a blast finding things that I can make over into stuff for the house.
I have made so far a table, chair and a small rug that I sewed to go under. A desk with hutch on it with little books, boxes and bottles. On the desk I have a crystal ball, a shell and bowl with green apples. I have also made a bed complete with bedding and my son made me a side table to go next to it, which I made a lamp to go on it. A wall mirror, a swivel (sp) mirror, toy blocks, a doll and a toy truck for the attic. I also painted a small painting to be stored in the attic.
It is a little hard keeping in scale of the house, it is so small, keep in mind that most of the items are way smaller than a dime and nothing is larger than 3" WOW, but I think I am doing a pretty good job. Oh well I guess the dollhouse scale police will not be coming to take me away... I think... LOL
I will post pics in a couple days of my progress![]()

Love what you made so far! What are they made of? I found a complete house on the curb last month and am anxious to get started on it. I used to collect all the furnishings for years just waiting for a house to come along and ended up giving all my stuff to my mom when she bought a house. She never got HERS put together either...lol!

Everything Ive made. A lot of it is scrap pieces from the windows and doors. I also have been using bamboo chopsticks and skewers. Then just looking around to find things that are small enough to stay in scale with the house. I now know why there isnt a lot of 1/2 scale stuff, it is hard to keep that small LOL.
What size is you dollhouse? I think it would be a lot easier to work in a full scale house than 1/2, but like people say, adleast with a 1/2 scale the dollhouse doesnt need a room of its own to be on display. You might be a King or a little street sweeper... sooner or later your gonna dance with the reaper!

"Haunted " Doll House –

Would that be a Voodoo doll haunted house? hahahaha!
Mine is a plastic Wal-Mart special, repainted of course with little dinosaurs gracing the roof tiles and of course the October signage on it proclaiming "Haunted House!"
My other haunted doll house is actually a display for the little horror movie character dolls I found several years ago. I installed a talking chip (Radio Shack) and they say:"We're gunna cut you up! Make you Bleed, bleed, bleed.....Kiddie show at 2 O'Clock...bring all the little children, Thank You!""My Insanity is well-respected, until they wiggle free and become a stringer for a tabloid"

LOL Gym, I do not mess with the voodoo stuff.... it scares me more than the witches

That talking chip sounds interesting, is it like those little things inside greeting cards? How much do they cost and are they hard to use?
Your dollhouse sounds sick LOL That is a sure way to scare the poo out of the kiddies LOLYou might be a King or a little street sweeper... sooner or later your gonna dance with the reaper!

Well to be honest this is my first house. I know it is half scale because that is what the web site says LOL

Does it look like a fancy "dollhouse" like you would buy furniture for and decorate or does it look like a barbie/ play doll house for a child? If you send me the measurements I can try to find out for you.You might be a King or a little street sweeper... sooner or later your gonna dance with the reaper!

Very nice!! I have been doing minis and collecting dollhouse things for years. I currently have a partially completed dollhouse (general build, no decor) that I need to finish.
I think what you have done looks amazing. Great job!_____________________________________
