Start with a normal happy-go-lucky gnome from Amazon.com:

Add some paint, LEDs, fangs, and diabolical laughing and get:

Meet Vlad, brother of the Travelocity gnome, who unfortunately booked a room at Castle Dracula while traveling in Transylvania.

This all started when we saw the skeleton gnome Spookilicious mama had found at Whatonearthcatalog.com.

We were hooked and had to get a skeleton gnome of our own, and then I decided to make him a sidekick. But it took more than I thought to convert a normal rosy cheeked happy little gnome into an evil looking undead terror of hapless squirrels (he wouldn't be tall enough to bite a person much above the ankles).

Ha! I always wondered why they had their hands behind their back - they're hiding weapons! Love it, Deadna.

What a great idea! Now I want an evil gnome. I would probably leave mine out all year just to see how many people noticed it. LOL

Cool Gnome, they always remind me of the Father-in-law. My son made the pic below for a desktop background, we call it joy riding Grandpa.

I was reading an article, apparently zombies are the new garden gnome.

Those look great! I am going to have to figure out a way to make them a bit "Piratey" and add a couple to my display....

Maybe throw and eye patch on them and a skull & crossbones on their hats or something like that....!
Thank ye matey, from the bottom of me scurvy heart......"One Eye'd" Mick

The ships' doctor warned me that I've been partaking in too much wine, women and song and told me that I should cut back a bit.........I am really going to miss the singing.....

I was looking at the skeleton gnome on the whatonearth site. You can buy a female one too.

I also found this article about some guy who's how to survive a gnome attack survival guide. I've always found them to be evil looking things.

The scary thing is that I can really picture this. I say go for it - I'm sure you'd get a laugh seeing them just as we do ours. And there is something soothing thinking about our vampire gnome attacking those blasted squirrels who always attack our props!

Whoa, nice job on the gnome research, halloween_sucks_in_the_uk! That gnome attack survival guide sounds like it would be fun to have as a coffee table book if we get back to throwing Halloween parties again soon. Something nice and a bit bizarre to have lying around.

And I promise I'll never mention to your father-in-law that you and your son think he looks like a gnome.
