I need help with my prostethic burn! I ran out of Liquid Latex, no stores around me have any more, and I won't get it in time If I order it! I need a substitution! Any ideas? I'm doing a layering of Toilet Paper for a burn effect, and I was using Liquid Latex, what else can be used? HELP!

Have you checked the craft stores? They almost always carry liquid latex near the modeling/sculpting supplies.

If you can't get your hands on any, you CAN use Elmer's glue in a pinch.

Elmer's Glue? Ok, so Mix it with water, or? Is it hard to remove? I need as much as you can tell me, please and thank-you

Nope, no mixing. Just plain Elmer's glue. It's a little more difficult to work with, because it dries slower than latex, but it'll give the same effect. It's also a bit thicker/denser, so it builds up quicker. But I would advise you to start getting ready a bit earlier, because of the drying time and for the learning curve of getting use to working with it.

It's actually easier to get off than latex - just some warm water and soap and it melts away. But because of this, it also doesn't tend to hold up as well to intense movement or any sweating. If you go the Elmer's glue route, I would try to bring a glue stick with you to re-adhere any pieces that start to get loose as the night goes on.

Just use it like you would normally use latex. However, you don't have to be as adamant about body hair, because Elmer's will wash right out of it.

It's definitely not something I'd recommend for usual or repeated use - simply because it's glue on your face. But it'll get the job done cheaply and effectively for the night.

I don't know if it's been said, but Wal-Mart carries Halloween face make-up. They almost always have a tube of liquid latex in it if you buy the packs for Vampires, Witches, etc...

I used Weldbond glue and toilet paper to make some wounds. Cheap and fast. I imagine that any liquid white glue would work well.
