Thread: A cat tail dilemma

I have a male friend who's dressing as a cat & here's his dilemma:

I need a tail that stands up like when they're that way.

I've got a bunch of romex electric cable lying around and it's sturdy yet bendy so that part's covered.

What's the best fabric/item/mystery product to wrap it in so it best matches some variant of a black unitard, and...

Can you think of an easy means to attach said tail to a belt or strap so it's stable while I'm wearing it (i.e. not falling left or right) yet easily removed so I can get into a car without having to wear it?

My covering suggestion would be black tights, as to how to attach it, I have no clue.

Anyone?

Just an idea, use the wire, wrap it around his waist, put a hole in the back of a belt. Sorry not sure how to explain, here's a rough illustration. Good Luck!
