I had a plan for my costume this year to be a character from a video game I play, and I purchased all the things I needed to make the costume. I ordered a blue wig, light blue UV contacts, a full body leotard, and fabric paint. I just got an email from the place I ordered the leotard from (overseas) that they won't be able to get it to me in time and they are refunding the order. I don't have enough time to order another one, and now I have a wig and contacts that I've already spent money on.
Please help. What costume can I do with a week to spare that would include (bare minimum) bright, light blue UV glow contacts? I would like to use the wig, but it can be saved for later if necessary. I already opened the contacts, so they are only good for 90 days. I'm frustrated and at a complete loss.
Any ideas???

That sucks, I'm sorry. I know how you feel. I've been working on my costume (Sam from Trick r Treat) for months now, only to find I didn't plan ahead enough and how it's on hold until next year. I'm having to dress up as what I was last year again (at least it's a good one).
Anyway, it might help to know how much you're willing to spend on this Halloween at this point in time. You can always put your video game (which character and game, btw?) costume on hold for next year. If you give an estimate of how much you're willing to spend on a new costume venture, I'll see what I can think up for you! Lots of possibilities with those contacts. Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that about your costume too. It sucks being excited about a costume and having it fall through. My character was going to be Cortana from the Halo series (not a lot of people know who I am talking about, but a lot of my friends would have known). She's an AI holographic character, so it would have been a pretty intricate design on the leotard I didn't receive.
I do think I'm going to put it on hold until next year. It will give me more time to complete the costume the way I really want it anyway. The wig and fabric paints can wait, but I opened and tried on the contacts, and they are only a 90 day pair....so I have to use them or it will be wasted money. The problem is they are the "rave blue" pair and the only suggestions I've found online for that pair is fairy. I'm NOT going to be a fairy. This is the first year I was choosing to be something non-scary, and that was only because I really like the character. I don't do the normal sexy, girlie costumes most young women love.
As far as budget is concerned, I am a little limited, as well as limited with time. I'd like to find something under $50, but may be willing to go up to $100 if I really love the idea. I already spent too much on the supplies that I won't be able to use this year, so I'm going to try to cut it down.
Any ideas would be appreciated. So far "ice witch" is the only semi plausible idea we've come up with, and I'm not sure I'm a huge fan. We'll see...
Thanks!

Not sure about the contacts. When I think blue I think smurffs or Avatar.

What character were you going to be originally? Do you have a picture of it?
