So I'm running a 5k race on Halloween that encourages costumes, and also has a costume contest afterward. I was hoping to run the race as Steve Prefontaine risen from the dead as a zombie, but I had a couple questions that I was hoping someone might be able to help with.
First, I've been researching different methods of doing zombie make-up, such as using liquid latex or gelatine, and I was curious if anyone could give any insight on which style would be best for someone who is going to be sweating a fair deal. It'll be coldish, so it's not like I'm going to be drenched, but my face will definitely be sweating. Is there a certain "zombie-face" method people would recommend for someone whose face will be all hot and sweaty?
Also, I am curious what method people could suggest for covering large parts of exposed skin. I want to put a lot of detail into my face, but I'll be wearing a tank-top and split running shorts, which means a lot of exposed skin. To be really authentic, I'll need to cover from my hands all the way onto my chest and a bit of my back, and the legs will be from the socks all the way up into the shorts. So again, I need something that's not going to sweat off and also won't block in my ability to sweat, but can also cover large parts of skin.
Like I said above, I was just hoping for some opinions on what materials I could use to achieve the look I'm going for, which is basically a dead runner coming back as a zombie. If it can't be done, well, it can't be done, but it's what I've set my mind on so I hope there are such materials out there, that I can sweat in and they won't come flying off as I run down the road.
Also, first post!
