The set-up...if you're old enough you probably remember these old Ben Cooper style costumes from the 70s, known for the cheap sweaty plastic masks with the painful elastics, and the "bib" style body which clearly identified who you were. "She looks just like the image of Cinderella that's on her shirt, so she must be...Cinderella!" Brilliant!

So I've been invited to a Star Wars themed Halloween party and (since I'm running out of time and money) thought - to be a little different, I'd try to recreate the look of the costume from the 70s (see the first picture). Don't know how, but I'm thinking it'll probably involve garbage bags.
So... do you think people will get it? Or will they just think I'm insane?![]()

My brother went as Chad Vader, to a Halloween party hopefully you are familiar with the online sensation that is "Chad Vader." He wore a cheap plastic Vader mask like what you are talking about, a supermarket style apron and a name tag that says "Chad." It was pretty funny. I would assume that since it's a Star Wars theme that most people would get it.

I think that's a great idea! I totally remember those costumes. My Mom used to take me to Pathmark where they had an isle of them, and we'd stand there sorting through trying to decide what to get. LOVE IT!

Thanks folks. Seems like it could either be a hit or an epic fail, but I'll give it a try (at least it should be reasonably cheap.)
Figured I'd try and get a retro pillowcase and make a lightsaber out of a wrapping paper tube to complete the effect that I'm a TOTer from "A long time ago". Might even search out some retro candy.
Yeah, Chad Vader rules!!!
(or wants to.)

no garbage bags, hit up the local fabric store any make it from vinyl fabric with a inkjet transfer (iron on) for the "bib" shirt, super easy and will turn out looking retro sweet.
There are two kinds of people in this world, those that think there are two kinds of people and those that know better.
Sheck out me photo's
