This was my first attempt at halloween makeup. Luckily, my younger brother was more than willing to become a zombie for the afternoon. I apologize that the photos aren't that great. They were taken using my cell phone.
For his cheek I built up some toilet paper and painted it red with yellow, green, and brown flecks to make it look a little infected. Then I made a skin out of gelatin and cut a slit in the center so that the "infection" would come through. I put a green base coat all over his skin. I darkened his eyes, used a "decay" colored enamel on his teeth, and finished with an edible homemade blood concoction. Unfortunately, he wouldn't quit eating the blood because apparently it tasted like chocolate.
Something I would do differently in the future is to get some sort of makeup wax or other medium that would better blend the edges of the gelatin skin into his own skin... Liquid latex didn't work as well as I had hoped. Plus, my mom wants me to help her out with her halloween makeup this year and she has a latex allergy. Anyone have any ideas?
What do you folks think?
