Remember death is the theme of the parade in the village this year . So what costume fits in with this? Standard death ? Reaper? I'm unsure how to put a fresh spin on this...

You could do one of the reapers from Dead Like Me, but it would be pretty obscure. If you go that route, be sure to have a few post-its with ETDs or it would be nearly impossible to ID. If you want to get really obscure, but also look like you put a bit more effort into the outfit, you could do one of the costumes the characters wore on the Halloween episode, though Roxy's uniforms and Daisy's cop costume would be bad with that theme.

you could do Death from Neil Gaiman's Sandman comics. or, much more complex would be one of the death gods from the Death Note manga.

What about something from the movie, Death Become Me?

Robert Chambers' King in Yellow would probably fit the theme.

I go to that parade every year, I was going to be a Furie from the Warriors, maybe I will be something dead instead.

You could do the "Death rides a pale horse" thing and do the fake horse thing around your waist. Depending on the tone you want to set, you could contrast the Death part with the horse for fun. (eg. a creepy reaper on "My Little Pony")

Or you could do something about Death and Taxes!
