Hello! I am trying to figure out what to wear for halloween this year. I'm really big on not spending a whole lot of money since I have spent a lot of money on some not so good costumes in the past.

Anywho, I have the Little miss muffet outfit (picture on the bottom of the post) that I want to make into something else. I was thinking perhaps Starwberry Shortcake?

Also I have a purple dress thats very Alice/story book looking (used it as a Chobits costume for Sakura-con) and I really pretty black lace dress with a lace mask.

I'm trying to go towards something that other people can dress up with me in some sort of theme situation and also something that is easily recognizable so I don't have to constantly explain stuff.

I would have to see the other dresses in order to give you a better suggestion for what you could go as. I do feel you could probably turn the Little Miss Muffet costume into Strawberry Shortcake however if you want to go out with friends using a theme I don't feel that choice would work out very well. Are you going to a themed party? Or is this something that you've just given thought to randomly? People can change their minds quickly and especially when Halloween draws closer; I'm sure there are people on this forum who have gone through eight different costumes before settling on one the day of. I would find out for sure if, and how many of your friends will commit to the idea of going with a theme for Halloween this year.

If you're going for a theme using a television show, or movie, that's entirely you and your friend(s) preference. If it was the case of you all being alike I would suggest a group of vampires, zombies or witches. If it's a small group you could do characters from fairy tales (which I'm sure you could use any one of your dresses for), or maybe an individual story like Alice in Wonderland (mind you this one I find is just too overdone).

Creating your costume will be a thousand times easier once you have decided on a theme (or if you'll even use one).

A couple of Friends and I have been talking about dressing up in themes together, and the strawberry shortcake characters were a favorite choice. There are quite a few of them from the books and tv show ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ake_characters ) So it would be quite easy to get a lot of people on it if they wanted to.

I like the black dress, I can't think much beyond masquerade or vampire for it though. The purple dress makes me think of fairies for some reason. Granted there are a lot of characters for Strawberry Shortcake I can only recognize her (I was never big on her, I don't know much about the others), so it won't be a problem for you getting asked "what are you supposed to be?" your friends however might run into that a couple of times. I'm all for the first dress because it's cute and I want it lol but beyond that I still believe you can easily achieve Strawberry Shortcake with it. Did you wear the purple dress on it's own for cosplaying? I don't know if you're into it but it's perfect for Lolita.
