There's so many thing's I want to dress up as and I can't seem to make up my mind, lol. I'm so excited for Halloween, it's already on my mind. I've been trying to think what would be good to dress up as. Last year Halloween for me was very depressing indeed and I want to prepare myself this year.Just thought I'd ask a little help from my friends on here cause you guy's always help me out and I love you guys for that!
Here's what I have in mind so far...
A gypsy. I always tend to play with a lot of tarot cards in my own free time and the costume I found online was great!
Fairy. I'm obsessed with fairies, lol.
Yuna from Final Fantasy. She's my favorite character in a video game. I've played the game once with my boyfriend and ever since then I've been obsessed with Final Fantasy games.
If you have any other ideas, be sure to send them my way. I'm always open for new ideas.

Couple of comments, take them or leave them.
I don't know Yuna. I've enough addictions without taking a bullet from computer RPGs.
Being a gypsy is a little iffy to me, but it isn't the costume that concerns me, it's the term. The Romani tribes have long been described with the word gypsy or gyps, and it isn't a flattering term. They have a long and tragic history, so I'm careful about gypsy portrayals.
This is just my personal hang-up. Shrug it off if you want.
However...
The classic 'gypsy' outfit of hoop earrings, headwrap and scarves is perfect for what you have in mind, i.e., Fortune-Teller.
Calling yourself something like Madame Oracle the Fortune Teller, Mistress of the Major Arcana doesn't make a statement about Romani culture or stereotypes at all. That could be fun, very classy and would add a classic element to your Halloween.
Finally, I like some of the modern images of faeries. Being an Autumn faerie, a pumpkin faerie, a graveyard faerie or a spider faerie - things like that not only give you a lot of room for personal creativity with makeup and costume, but people love to see that stuff.

I vote for the faerie...only because I am also obssessed with Faeries. For two Halloweens I was an Amy Brown faerie. I'm sure you know who she is...but if not she has a web site with all of her art work. Her faeries are amazing!!!

Here is a pretty basic fortune teller costume:

I'm a big fan of taking a costume, whether it is store bought or original, and mixing it up a little bit. Do you have a crystal ball that you could carry around? Maybe you could put something inside the ball that has some cryptic hidden message in it or something. You could also be a doom and gloom fortune tell with lots of black and dark colors.

Hi Sam!
I am a final fantasy fan myself- 7 being my favorite but 10 is my second- so much so that I have made AMVs for both
...and Yuna's costume is pretty great in my opinion. I guess my question would be how important (to you) is it for other people to recognize your costume? Im not sure how many people know who Yuna is . This costume is going to be much harder to come by than the other two... hopefully you know someone that can sew!
Let us know what you decide on and good luck!

Personally, I have done the gypsy costume 2 or 3 times over the years...well alot of years. I wouldn't "buy" the costume...but check second hand stores or yard sales...I think it will be more authentic and much more comfortable (not a fan of store bought costumes). I collect pieces for that costume whenever I find them - coin jewelry, skirts, scarves, etc. Good luck! I'd love to see a pic.

Ive gone as a gypsy and I made my cousin a gypsy coustume, so I vote gypsy. Scince those flowy long skirts are in season you could layer them and there not that expensive at T.J. Max. Get a pirate type shirt, and the reason I really loved being a gypsy was wearing a corset, I already had one so I'm not sure how expensive they are. But I also saw some say graveyard fairy and that sounds like a really cool coustume.
