Hello all!
This year for Halloween, and, well, everything, I've decided to go with my main character Serif.
Serif by ms-manuscript -- Fur Affinity [dot] net
The idea of having a beak glued to my face didn't work quite the way I wanted, so I'm making a mascot head instead. I'm building it off of a hockey helmet. I can't seem to think of any way to attach the foam rubber to the plastic though. Hot glue peels off the plastic, and rubber cement actually is eating the foam...
Any ideas on how to attach it?
Oh! And since this is the costume spot, I'll post up last year's costume. Here are the more recent pictures, taken last weekend. Pictures taken by my friend Kite. I'm the tan mouse in the lab-coat.

So yeah, hoping to get better as time goes on!

If I had to take a stab at it I would try it this way...
Latex. Coat the nose with a few layers where it makes a glove. On the spot of the mask put ruff up the surface by sanding with course paper. Drill a few holes around the area that will be hidden under the nose. Coat the nose area of the mask and make sure latex pushes through the holes. Coat the back of the mask nose area making sure to join the latex pushed through the holes. After a few coats the latex will make a front and backing "plug" piece (think dumbells). When nose and mask are dry they should attach together much like rubber cement. Apply more latex around nose edge to fill and reinforce connection. Paint with cheap artist acrylic paint mixed with latex 1 to 1.
Quick and dirty way put wood screw through area of mask nose sticking out. Punch hole into foam with screw and push in liquid latex into hole. Before dry coat wood screw with latex and put into nose (beak thing).
Or you could do both as insurance.
Can you tell I like latex? LOLWhat doesn't kill you can still make you walk funny.
