I bought a pair of those crazy Halloween contacts to wear with my costume this year. I've never worn contacts so I have no experience using them. Has anyone else who doesn't wear contacts ever tried using these? If so, did you have any problems getting them in your eyes? Does anyone have any tips or advice for me?
I tried putting them in about a week ago, but I was in a big rush & I couldn't get them in. I plan to try again before our party on Saturday night. I'm really hoping to get this figured out because I feel like the contacts are a great addition to my costume & I paid a lot of money for them too.
Thanks!

I used them a couple of years ago, and basically you just have to fight yourself to get them in. I never wore contacts before but there just like any other contacts. I just got some contact solution and poped them in before any make up went on. Though they feel funny and if they move slightly ( i had black ones ) they impare the vision. Its not ideal to drive with them in, but its harder to take out and put in without ruining your make up. My eyes were watering all over the place

Did they bother you once you got them in? How long did you wear them?

I wore contacts last year as well, they were a bit of a nightmare to get in! Took me about half an hour to get them in, as I'd never worn them before! Every time it got close to my eye I just kept blinking.
They don't hurt or feel uncomfortable (at least in my experience) when you're wearing them. The only problem is that if you're in a club, or somewhere dark, your pupils dilate to take in more light, but the contacts obviously don't, so you end up sort of seeing the inside edge of the contact (around where the clear bit in the middle is), but hey that's not so bad! I wore mine for a good 8/9 hours.

I've been using them for years on halloween. Never wear them any other time. They are somewhat uncomfortable for the first 20 minutes or so, but then you forget they're even there.
It's hard to explain, but the best way to put them in, is with one hand. Put the contact on the tip of your index finger, use your middle finger to pull your lower eye down as far as you can, exposing most of your eyeball, then place the contact in. It's tough not to blink, but that's all in your head. Fight the urge to blink. You can do it!
There are myths and rumours abounding about how your eyes will fall out of your head if you use contacts that aren't made for you. While they absolutely should be fitted to your eyes for best results, I have never done so, and have worn them for 4 halloween occasions, and not just on Halloween night. Quite a few nights each year with no problems. You do see a bit of a blur ring at first, but pretty soon, as I mentioned, you forget they are there. They are well worth the effect IMO!

I command my girlfriend to put mine in for me, I cant do it. Once in they dont bother me to much, but come about 12 am or so, I seem to get tired itchy eyes. I can get them out myself.

Oh Those Contacts! –

Hello Buzzard! I'm Bill. I just bought me a pair of those sweet Halloween contacts here at the local smoke shop in Hollywood. I have never worn contacts myself either. i bought them two days ago and been putting them in everyday so i can get used to them. The first day took me about 10 mins and the second day about 3 mins. The thing that I do is first I place contact on tip of my finger, not too wet with solution or it will keep sliding or falling from your finger, second I tilt my head back and with my other hand i use my index finger to pull my top eyelid open. Doing this you can see a gap it leaves between your eyelid and you eye. Next, then slide the top edge of the contact into the gap and slowly pull away finger once placed into gap. remember to open eye wide and as you pull away finger from contact it should lay on your eye. don't let go of your top eyelid once you have placed contact on eye, hold you eye open and contact will position itself directly over your pupil. the first couple mins it will be irritated but you will then get used to it and it will feel more comfortable...oh and yes, there will be tears, but count these as tears of joy as your counting the compliments you get as the Halloween night passes....hope this helps . have a great, safe halloween!!!!
