well heres my costume for this year.

i had a couple murals to paint for local photographers and found myself with alot of extra canvas. (had to buy a 10 yard role)

with funds being limited this year i decided to use the canvas.
a late night viewing of thirteen ghost and i had my idea.
i'll start with a straight jacket (inspired by the jackel in particular)

my sewing skills are novice at best, but all in all i think it turned out very nicely.
the canvas has been aged with tea, coffee, red wine, rusty water, the fire pit in my back yard, power tools etc etc etc and alot of trips to the laundry room.
i bet the jacket has been washed at least 20 times.

next the slippers. also my creation. i actually made them with some very light/fluffy pure white fun fur.

they recieved similar treatment to the jacket.

picked up an ugly set of pj's for the pants (also aged)

the mask is a 9oz piece of veg tanned leather. after i cut it out, i ran it under very hot water and set it over a 2 litler pop bottle to dry

i'm also building a shrink to wheel around the party and converse with all night.
he started as a chair base (from my desk) and a curtain rod. this is going to be my old iv cart.

severed head in plastic, and old lamp, stain and metal rod and my shrink/iv cart was finished.

then came the fun part. splatter time!
now this didn't work out quite as expected. i mixed up alot of blood (acrlic paint/varnish etc)
just before i started i knocked a good 1/3 of a 2 liter bollte full of paint on to my kitchen floor. it exploded, covering walls, floor, sink fridge, stove and me.
most of the splatter on the costume is a dirrect result of mopping the last of my paint up from the floor. even the splatter patterns are just dirrect transfers of paint from around my kitchen. the girly was not happy!

i've got some finishing touches to do, but for the most part i'm calling it a done deal.

perhaps now, i'll have some time to complete the other 4 costumes i have on the go for people.

what do ya think? any other suggestions for the costume? perhaps something i over looked?

i'm gonna add some red plastic to the iv bottle to simulate blood, fill it with water and float a couple small gold fish in there.

heres the back of the jacket. (pre splatter)

i've started a little contest on a steampunk forum.
basicly, they get to design the id card for the doc's id sleeve. (something old-at least 50 years+)

in return i'm building a clock work creature of the dead for the winner, as a prize for thier efforts.

Beautiful Work. I was working on a Similar getup last year, but Clown Based.

Couple Quick Questions. Where did you get those awesome Bunny Slippers!! And what did you use as a pattern for that mask? I was looking for a full face version like that, but could only find Half-Face "Hannibal" Masks.

I was looking for an Old (or new that could be "antiqued") I.V. Cart as well... But could never find anything. I love your Custom one!
