I have this mask that i bought for about $100 dollars from a halloween store a few years ago. I bought one of those cheap twenty dollar robe to go with it but frankly it sucks and looks like crap compared to the mask. I need ideas, or pictures of what other people have done to make a good rest of the costume that would be very convincing and scary. Right now i just feel ashamed of wearing the mask because the robe sucks.

Reminds me of the Sycorax from Dr. Who. Is sewing a robe out of the question?

No. Sewing a robe is a possibility. It just depends on how complicated it is. And where i could get templates for it. Also i was thinking of buying some colored contacts but i couldnt decide which color to get.

Simplicity has a few robes.

Butterick also has one that may work.

Your best bet is to go to a fabric shop and look through the pattern books to find something you like. Robes are pretty simple because they are meant to be flowing rather than fitted.

How about this?
....or you could go to your local fabric store and see what they have in a snakeskin type pattern (no kidding, they have everything) and use a breastplate (gladiator/Batman/Ironman etc...) to form a pronounced chest to cover. Make some sleeves and get some monster hands and your pretty much there unless you want to wear a monster codpeice....then your on your own. There are two kinds of people in this world, those that think there are two kinds of people and those that know better.
