I'd like to make a panda costume but not really use thick fur as my party will be mostly indoors and the person wearing it will feel hot. Can you think of any alternative materials I can use that would still look like a panda suit? I'm not too worried about the mask itself but the rest of the body. Do you think a white body suit with pieces of black fur in the right places would work?

that sounds like it should work
does it need to be a panda looking panda or just a costume that when you see it you cant help but think panda?
if you feel like putting some extra work in you could make the suit out of faux fur and put a cooling system similar to what a racecar drivers suit has.... just a thought...somewhere in the north-woods darkness, a creature walks upright.
And the best advice you may ever get is never to go out…at night.
