Hosting a Monster Mash party for halloween so basically people dress up as different monsters however being the host I want to go all out and be different/interesting but also look good! Im a student on a limited budget and dont want to get a hired costume or buy one that loads of other people can buy the same.
Any ideas? I was thinking Psycho Clown however I dont really think I would look "Good" just scary... haha.
My other idea was, seen as myself and 4 other friends are hosting the party that we should all maybe match? One of my ideas was to be a group of students who were on a coach off to the beach then got into a car crash and turned into Beach Zombies haha.
Any better ideas?

Classic Universal monsters
Frankenstein, Dracula, Mummy and Wolfman
The mummy or Drac would be the easiest money-wise.
Mummy: Strips of cheesecloth soaked in tea or coffee and then you could wear white pants/teeshirt and have a friend wrap you from head to toe! do consider bathroom accessability, tho and adjust the wrapping to allow for an easy wrap and unwrap.
Drac: nice suit (if you already have one, good, but there is a cheapy formal wear place that would be awesome to get a tux from!
DIRT CHEAP Formalwear and Tuxedos
Cape, white makeup, fangs.
Zombies are always good!
Vampires (either goth or regular) or vamp victims - puncture wounds and blood trickle on the neck, white makeup with dark circles under the eyes....
Jason, Freddy, Michael Myers, Jigsaw, Leatherface.
I know that you can get the first three's masks and accessories at Walgreens (they are under $20 and I want to say $15 for Jason's mask and machete, Freddy's mask and hand razors, MM's mask doesn't come with the butcher knife, but that is relatively easy to find. I can't remember where I recently saw Leatherface's mask, but it wasn't expensive if I remember correctly. Jigsaw's mask might be a little more as you might have to check out places like Party City or Spirit to find that...I'm a Halloween Bride! 10/31/2002

Oh, I just came across this vampire (in the style of classic drac) for cheap:
Vampire Adult Costume - Super Savers
Hmmm... more unusual...
I'll have to think about it some more!

drowned students
creature from the black lagoon, although that might be a bit budget breaking... you could just get the mask and gloves and wear regular school clothes, a la teen wolf
different animal creatures using old school makeup tricks
phantom of the opera
undead masquerade goers... a bit off the monster mash theme though...
that all i have for unusual for now... hope it helps
...somewhere in the north-woods darkness, a creature walks upright.
And the best advice you may ever get is never to go out…at night.
